McAllen, Texas – February 10th, 2020 – Greater McAllen Association of REALTORS® was

awarded the 2019 Innovative Education Program of the Year, for GMAR University, at the 2020

Texas REALTORS® Winter Meeting hosted in Austin, Texas. Monica Solis Pena, RCE - Chief

Executive Officer accepted the award on behalf of the Association.

The program was launched in 2019 and it was designed to facilitate access to education

courses to members of Greater McAllen Association of REALTORS®. The program offers

members the ability to pay a flat fee and be afforded access to an unlimited amount of classes

throughout the year depending on the package chosen. Although members are still allowed to

pay for individual classes a la carte the savings to them is much greater through the packages

that are offered. The Greater McAllen Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors supported

the program for the year of 2019 and its return in 2020.

Cancelled classes due to low registrations was decreased by 21%, and the program increased

total REALTOR® attendance for classes by 65% within the same year cycle.

President of Greater McAllen Association of REALTORS®. “Receiving the Innovative Education

Program of 2019 by Texas Realtors® for GMAR University is one of the highlights of this year

and we are just getting started.”
