About

Our Story

In loving memory of Zaida Luz Del Rio de Villarreal, without her guidance and teachings, none of this would be possible today.

Cesar Villarreal graduated from William Penn University with a bachelors in business management in the year 2010. He then received his Realtor license in 2011 and Reliance was born as a team within the Keller Williams family.

After a few years of working together with his mother at Reliance, Cesar Villarreal was offered the Principal position at Retail Solutions, today known as Resolut, back then it was considered the largest and most important Retail Leasing firm in Texas with offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston, SA, and McAllen.

It was there at Resolut where Cesar Villarreal had the opportunity to represent the most important institutional, regional and local retail landlords and national retail tenants in the State of Texas. During this same year Cesar Villarreal was appointed by the Greater Mcallen Association of Realtors as “Commercial Real Estate Committee Chair”. Cesar was also awarded the “Top Producer” award at Retail Solutions for four years in a row.

Cesar became a member of ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers), CTCAR (Central Texas Commercial Association of Realtors), AMPI (Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliarios), GMAR (Greater McAllen Association of Realtors), BBR (Brownsville Board of Realtors, SPIBR (South Padre Island Board of Realtors) ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative), and CCIM Candidate (Commercial Real Estate Institute).

During this same time frame, Zaida Luz Del Rio de Villarreal and Reliance became one of the most important Real Estate groups within the Keller Williams family totalling business volumes of over $25 Million dollars and countless happy clients.

In 2018, Cesar decided to accept a job in Mexico City with Luis Miguel Rios, (former CEO for “Under Armour” and “Oakley” in Mexico and LATAM) in the nationwide launch of RED HYDROGEN ONE, a revolutionary and new smartphone brand launched within the Telcel network in Mexico. This venture lasted until early 2020 when RED decided to terminate the HYDROGEN smartphone project. Cesar then decided to accept the position of Real Estate Sales and Development Director with “Origo Works LTD” in Brownsville Texas.

It was June 18th 2020 the day Zaida Luz Del Rio de Villarreal lost her battle to cancer.
It was not long after Zaida’s passing that Cesar decided to take over Reliance and bring the company back to market.
By April 2021 Cesar had submitted his resignation at “Origo Works LTD”, and began this new journey to launch Reliance Real Estate back into the South Texas markets.

It is important to recognize and credit the people behind the courtain that have enabled and played a most important role at Reliance. Special thanks to Tess Helmer, whom was there from the beginning and birth of Reliance in the year 2011 at KW, and stayed by Zaida’s side throughout her entire cancer-battling years until her passing in the year 2020. Also special thanks to Patricia Rodriguez, whom assisted Cesar at Retail Solutions since the year 2014, and became not only indispensible but an amazing friend.
